Simulation Facilities
For numerical analysis, LABMCI has several computational fluid dynamics simulation software, structural analysis, chemical kinetics and combustion, as well as simulation programs focused on the automotive industry, the AVL stands out in this group of programs. The LABMCI has an academic partnership (UPP) for use of this program.
Simulation tools
The LABMCI has several computational tools for numerical simulation of combustion processes, internal combustion engines, vehicular aerodynamics, structural analysis as well as several programming languages (Python, C ++, FORTRAN, etc.). The five main programs for simulation are:
- AVL – Advanced Simulation Technologies
- Cantera – An open-source suite of tools for problems involving chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport processes
- ANSYS FLUENT – ANSYS CFD
- SolidWorks
- Engineering Equation Solver
